The Ceramics Academy is an amazing place to learn, create and inspire you. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced ceramist there's always something new to learn.
Taz has made this place an incredibly welcoming safe place to explore your creative self.

The academy is so well equipped with everything from tools, wheels, glazes and best of all a wealth of knowledge from Taz & from the wonderful people around the studio. The classes are a great start and very well thought out run by some incredible tutors with so much patience, time and humour. An all-round wonderful experience working there I feel truly blessed to have this place in my life. Highly recommend! ❤️️️️️️

Just finished a fantastic Saturday workshop at the studio. Had such a great time.

Lovely group and excellent tutor. It was very relaxed but we all learnt a lot and finished our project - a max melt burner. Can’t wait to get my back after firing. Would recommend to anyone who wants a creative treat. Thank you Beth, Taz and team.

It is wonderful that Taz Pollard and her team have put North Devon back on the map in terms of ceramic production, training and  artistry. The ceramics academy  has managed to remain sustainable despite the necessary pandemic closures and tough economic times chiefly as a result of a growing band of dedicated students and the nurturing community that has been propagated by Taz in her South Molton site.

As a North Devon GP,  I have seen at first hand , the commitment to inclusivity and diversity and the clearly positive effect this community spirit has had on those with disability - whether that be physical or mental.

Taz Pollard's business clearly encompasses not only a  sustainable and sure footed financial model but  a clear ethos of giving back to the North Devon community. The success of the business , not only acts as a role model to other makers but to women.

This isn't just a studio to learn how to throw pots, create amazing pieces and work with clay. This isn't just the place to come and learn techniques and ask questions about clay.

This is a space for people to be, a space to share and support both in the name of ceramics and the people who inhabit it.  A space to care for others through the good times and the tough. At the end you can see the masterpieces that you create, filled with love and support that's shared.

Taz, Beth and Hannah (to name a few), you are bright stars on my dark days and nights, for which I will always hold dear.

I love this studio!! Taz has created something really special for potential and proficient potters alike.

I have had the pleasure of attending two courses - 7 weeks introductory course with Hannah and a bird bath day with Beth, both tutors are calm and encouraging. The studio is well stocked and beautiful, there’s a real community feel because everyone there is inspirational in their own ways. The only drawback is it’s addictive and there’s sooooooo much more I want to create now!

A HUGE thank you to Jo for an amazing Kidz Workshop.

I was so impressed with the environment and Jo's teaching was superb, she was so kind and understanding. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed herself.

We would definitely rebook.
